Is this what you wanted?
What are your thoughts on asylum seekers?
I think we have been treating them as second class humans. Absolutely horrible. While we can’t accept everyone who turns up at our door, we still need to treat people as people and not criminals.
What are your thoughts on public transport?
As a country person, public transport needs much more support. If you don’t have a drivers license, its very hard to get from one town to another at a reasonable cost. But its a very complex issue, not a one line fix.
What are your thoughts on renewable energy?
Love it! I hope we will be on this earth for a very long time as Humans. Finite resources are, well, finite. They will run out. I can see kids being taught in 100 years time that we were stupid to burn Oil and Gas when it can be used for so many other things and by then, in very limited supply.
Do you support or oppose the introduction of the R18+ rating classification for video games?
Yes. I support. I don’t play such Games myself, but I believe in freedom of choice.
Do you support or oppose the proposed internet filter?
OPPOSE! I work at an Internet Service Provider and I think its the most stupid idea of any government.
Do you support or oppose gay marriage?
Support. Others religious beliefs should not be forced onto everyone. Each person should have a right to do as they please, as long as it doesn’t hurt another.
What are your thoughts on abortion?
I believe Women should have a choice. Its a serious decision, and other peoples views should not coerce someone in making such an important decision.
Do you support or oppose the legalisation of voluntary euthanasia?
Support, Absolutely Support. If I’m in serious pain with no possible medical option to help, especially if its in my last months of life, I want to be able to make that choice.
What are your thoughts on stem cell research?
With proper ethical medical boundaries. I support Stem Cell research.
What are your thoughts on education?
I think its sad that Universities and Schools feel the need to be part of the Political Machine to get funding. This is Australia, these are our next generation, lets make sure they are well educated to carry Australia forward.
What are your thoughts on campaign finance disclosure?
I support full disclosure. After reading about gambling and smoking organisations funding political parties, I feel the public needs to know that their representatives might be required to vote a certain way.
What are your thoughts on climate change?
I believe that there is Climate Change and we need to put a price on carbon to fund renewable energy industries which will create many local jobs.
What are your thoughts on water?
Its what gives us Life. Without it we die. Its our most important and limited resource in Australia. Need I say more?
Do you support or oppose standing order 50?
The prayer? I strongly believe in separation of Church and State. Therefore, given the choice, I would prefer a more generic message be said. Something to focus parliament on the tasks ahead.
Are there any local issues you are trying to highlight with your campaign?
The usual areas, Hospitals, Schools and Policing. Things that should be the reason for government, and not political footballs.
What do you think about the media’s coverage of the election so far?
Bit boring. But its early days. Hopefully the ABC comedy team can make things look interesting.
