For your information, Country Alliance has agreed on a new policy for regional Victoria. Here it is.

Payroll tax exemptions for rural Victoria
Country Alliance believes the exemption threshold for payroll tax should be lifted to $1 million for businesses and employees who are located in regional Victoria. Many regional businesses already fall within the current exemption threshold. Raising the threshold would enable them to increase the number of employees without fear of paying more payroll tax.
Raising the threshold would also provide a further incentive to remain in country towns rather than contribute to urban sprawl. (14.8.11)
