The results of a Newspoll survey on the Victorian government’s proposed ban on bongs, show widespread skepticism about the move.
The government’s stated objective in introducing legislation to ban bongs was to try and stop young people from smoking marihuana. The poll, commissioned by the Eros Association and run last weekend showed that a large majority of Victorians (72%) thought the legislation would not stop young people from smoking marihuana. A minority of 23% thought it would.
Eros Association CEO and Sex Party President, Fiona Patten, said that the proposed legislation was also racist, in that it banned bongs used by young Caucasions and water pipes traditionally used by Chinese but exempted hookahs used by those of middle eastern descent.
“If Andrew Bolt’s statements about race are illegal then this Bill surely is as well”, she said. “How can you send Chinese and Caucasian Australians to jail for selling and displaying bongs and then exempt Lebanese and Egyptian Australians from selling and displaying their version of a bong?”
She called on Andrew Bolt to comment on the issue.
Of those that did not believe the legislation would have any effect, the 18-34 age group were most vocal with 80% agreeing but even in the over 50 age group, a large percentage (64%) also agreed that banning bongs would do nothing to bring down marihuana usage.
Ms Patten said that bongs, hookahs and traditional water pipes should all be sold from age-restricted premises. She said that if the legislation was passed, she would survey Victorians about marihuana usage in the months prior to the next State election. “I think we will find that usage rates will probably have escalated”, she said. “This will show that, against public opinion, the government wasted taxpayer’s money just to show they were ‘tough on drugs’. She asked the Premier if he would now ban cigarette papers in the state of Victoria because these were by far the most popular way of smoking marihuana. “A far more effective Bill would be to restrict the sale of all smoking utensils, pipes, cigarettes and cigarette papers to adults only venues such as tobacconists, pubs and adult shops.
She said that banning bongs would force tens of thousands of young Victorians to smoke cannabis through garden hoses and plastic orange juice bottles with all the deleterious health aspects that plastic vapors in the lungs could bring.
“When in government, the ALP voted against this Bill when it was initially brought on by the DLP. They cited the deleterious effects of smoking substances through plastic as opposed to glass or ceramic or wood. The Greens appear unlikely to move to put it to a Committee. The Sex Party will fight this decision on its own.”

Follow the buzzards?
Months leading up to his official WWE debut, I heard repeatedly from the Internet Wrestling Community (IWC) how incredible the new Bray Wyatt character was on WWE’s NXT shows. We’re talking comparisons to the best invention since sliced bread or the second coming of Jesus Christ. THAT GREAT. WWE was acting like the IWC by the over produced videos on the guy. I was like “what did they do to fix Husky Harris??”.
So Bray Wyatt debuted on the July 8th, 2013 edition of Monday Night RAW, and by debuting, I mean coming out to a cool entrance theme and a cool lights out theme where Bray is carrying a lantern. I was impressed… WWE is consistently great at 3 things: (a) theme music, (b) arena lighting and effects, and (c) wrestler debuts. We were all set to prove the IWC correct on the hype they had given the guy. Then, the lights came on… Bray Wyatt sits in a chair while his 2 inbred hosses attacked Kane. We get nothing out of the overhyped guy but some taunts to Kane afterward. Baltimore fans cheered HUSKY HARRIS , the name of Bray Wyatt just 2 years ago and the IWC lost their shit. 2 years ago…
Things were better the following week when the Wyatt family attacked R-Truth. Then again, they were attacking R-Truth. Fans cheer for blood when R-Truth, the Miz, Zack Ryder, or other disliked wrestlers that the WWE once tried to overpush get attacked. The Wyatt family could have just walked away but Bray Wyatt had to pic up a microphone. He said some really weird stuff… It is the first promo cut, so I can understand a lukewarm performance. But what the hell did he actually say? “Follow the buzzards”? What the hell does that mean? Are you referring to the ones flying around the Husky Harris gimmick?
I saw a recent WWE Smackdown were it was the inbred HOSS duo of the Wyatt family taking on Brodus Clay/Lord Tensai (“Sweet T”) in a tag team match. Granted, Clay and Tensai have been utter failures in the WWE despite being blessed with size that Vince McMahon has enjoyed in the past. I am not suggesting that Clay/Tensai are going to make the WWE tons of money anytime soon, especially with that stupid Funkadelic gimmick that only looks good with the entrance (see what I said above about theme music and arena production?) However, these 2 developmental wrestlers just got called up… What exactly have they proven to defeat a team that were scheduled to wrestle at Wrestlemania 29? And again, I don’t think much of Clay/Tensai, but they look incredibly worse by letting newbies beat their ass. As goofy as Clay and Tensai might look, at least they are wrestling in tights to look somewhat legitimate.
More stuff with Kane this Monday. Exactly what has any of the 3 developmental wrestlers (yes, Bray Wyatt is developmental… he was demoted there from main WWE roster following Husky Harris) proven to make a former 2 time WWE Champion? I fully understand that Kane is old (46 years old), but exactly what has Bray Wyatt or his “family” done to deserve a shot at Kane in the first place? To be consistent, what has the returning Curtis Axel done to get the honor of wrestling Triple H and John Cena after he returns to the WWE roster? What gave Bo Dallas (Bray Wyatt’s real life brother) the right to embarrass Wade Barrett repeatedly? Exactly what on earth did Fandango prove in his first few weeks with WWE to earn a spot on Wrestlemania 29 and to defeat former world champion Chris Jericho?
WWE is pushing these developmental stars like Main Eventers from the start despite the fact that they LACK the heat and emotional attachment of fans to merit such a debut. The most successful Main Event wrestlers took years upon years of working their way up the ladder to convince fans that they were Main Event worthy. Whatever you think about John Cena now, nobody can deny his rise to the top from 2002-2005. After getting over with the “Thug Life” attitude change to his character, he was actually drawing as the United States Champion. The successful midcard title reign convinced WWE officials that by Wrestlemania 21, John Cena would be ready for his first WWE Championship. That was in 2005. Gee, who is STILL on top of the WWE now 8 years later? Current WWE Champion, John Cena… (Cue the John Cena debut match from 2002 with Kurt Angle arguments… But Cena gained nothing from it and didn’t catch on with fans until the “Thug Life” character change happened).
Debut these wrestlers but star them low on the ladder. Instead of attacking Kane on your first night, destroy Zack Ryder or something of that puny caliber. Deliver a brutal beatdown to a jobber-like wrestler and nail all of your finishing moves to impress the crowd. That’s how Brock Lesnar debuted in 2002. He attacked a bunch of wrestlers who weren’t even close to the main event and introduced his badass F5 finisher to impress fans. It’s that simple… Granted, the WWE in 2013 versus 2002 is different… WWE had an actual midcard in 2002 but in 2013, everybody is a potential Main Eventer! Still, there are turds in the WWE pool that the Wyatt family could have destroyed on their debut other than Kane. Kane getting attacked actually lessens the effect of wrestling his former tag team parter, Daniel Bryan because he was “injured” by the Wyatt family weeks before and the threat of their interference was present for the Bryan match.
Follow the Buzzards, baby… And if you go to Bray Wyatt’s Twitter page, @WWEBrayWyatt, you can actually follow him… Maybe he’ll Retweet your comments as he sits in the rocking chair. I wonder what an internet service provider or wireless phone dealer thinks when the Wyatt family seeks service? Stupid how the WWE markets their wrestlers. They promote the Shield as an entity outside of the WWE but yet WWE Corporate is driving their Twitter account.
What the WWE and much of the Internet Wrestling Community needs to realize that this is 2013. Gone is what might have worked during the 1980′s and 1990′s: GIMMICKS. Fiction does not work in 2013 and it was pretty much eliminated when 2 guys, Scott Hall and Kevin Nash, proved that they could ditch their “Razor Ramon” and “Diesel” gimmicks and still get crazy over. They proved that a made up fictional name does NOT get them over, the wrestler behind the gimmick does. Think about all of those stupid occupational gimmicks of the 1990′s that the WWE tried. Duke “the Dumpster”, Hog Farmer, Repo Man, Smokin’ Gunns, Body Donnas, Dean Douglass, Isaac Yankem DDS, and even the Undertaker. That’s right, I went there. For all of the hosses and fatasses that the Undertaker wrestled, including himself one time, it wasn’t until he wrestled Bret Hart and then Shawn Michaels that we saw the best out of the Undertaker. Particularly when Shawn Michaels cost the Undertaker the WWE Title at SummerSlam 1997 and then the Undertaker went after Shawn Michaels. Undertaker took his in-ring work more seriously during the 2000′s and the result is an outstanding legacy that commands an ongoing Wrestlemania streak.
Go look at Triple H… He tried HARD to get that blue blood snob gimmick over. Yet, the more he got away from that gimmick and shortened his name from “Hunter Hearst Helmsley” to Triple H, the more over and successful he became. The more Mick Foley began revealing a backstory of his life to wrestling fans, the more over he became and helped him become a main eventer. Guys like Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin, and the Rock certainly had gimmicked names, but their personas were merely extensions of their own personalities. They weren’t pretending to be a fictional character. Their “gimmicks” were to be the absolute best WWE Main Eventer of their era and they succeeded quite well. The Ohio Valley Wrestling “Class of 2002″ debuted wrestlers mostly with their real names or close to normal sounding names. Randy Orton, John Cena, and Brock Lesnar are still drawing 11 years later. No gimmicks needed. Just the wrestlers themselves getting naturally over, having great matches, and their characters being mere extensions of their own personalities. Did you see much difference between Brock the WWE wrestler versus Brock the UFC fighter? I sure as hell didn’t…
WWE is selling that Bray Wyatt as a cult leader from some backwoods, even though most fans actually know the wrestler as a different gimmick just 2 years ago: Husky Harris, jobber member of the Nexus stable. Gee, that was another cult like group? And CM Punk became a leader of that group in his 2nd run as a cult leader. His first being the Straight Edge Society. It wasn’t until CM Punk broke away from these stable leader positions and began extending his own personality that he actually got over. His “pipebomb” promo was every bit how CM Punk personally sees himself as a pro wrestler and he poured his heart out into that infamous speech. Ditched the deadweight of the stable he was in, which included Husky Harris, and exponentially grew as a wrestler during the “Summer of Punk” during mid 2011. He got over and now he’s easily the #2 guy behind the kiddie houseshow/merchandise drawing John Cena. Wrestlers are at their best when they inject more non-fictional elements into their character rather than acting like someone they are not.
I seriously worry that the WWE has failed the man behind the Husky Harris/Bray Wyatt gimmicks, Windham Lawrence Rotunda . See those names? His parents are pro wrestler Mike Rotunda/Irwin R Schyster (IRS) and the sister of pro wrestler Barry Windham. That is pro wrestling royalty… Why not embrace that? And ditto for his younger brother Taylor Rotunda or in WWE/NXT, Bo Dallas. How about instead of wasting our time with the Husky Harris gimmick and Bo humiliating Wade Barrett, just debut Bray Wyatt and Bo Dallas as a tag team. If the WWE insists on not using their real names, OK, just use variations of their family names and call Bray Larry Windham (play on Lawrence, rhymes with Barry) and Bo as Taylor Windham. Then, really embrace the family bloodlines by having Mike Rotunda (or even IRS) actually manage them. Think about that… And if they fail as a tag team, so what? They debuted small and can now rise to the top if they are truly talented. Dolph Ziggler started small by being a bit member of a Male Cheerleading stable. Demote or cut the wrestlers if they can’t get out of the lower portion of the midcard.
But NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO – We must debut all NXT develop wrestlers as INSTANT Main Eventers. Better yet, let’s quickly give them the Money in the Bank briefcase and attempt to quickly get them over with a World Title reign… Working out great for Damien Sandow who was quickly rushed the Money in the Bank briefcase just 1 year after he joined the main WWE roster. He cuts loud insulting promos to fans and yet receives no heat. What exactly has Sandow done to deserve sniffing the Intercontinental Title, let alone the World Heavyweight Championship?
Problem with Bray Wyatt is that he’s just a short time removed from Husky Harris and that the WWE is treating him like a Main Event act. Fans have better memories than the WWE thinks and fans also don’t like wrestlers shoved down their throats. Most don’t care about what happens in NXT or any developmental territory.
WWE has YEARS upon YEARS of WWWF, WWF, WWE, WCW, AWA, World Class, and ECW on tape in their vast video libraries. The McMahons and their soap opera writers to simply watch how all of the great wrestlers became great. They started low, climbed the ladder, got over with midcard titles, had a key veteran put them over at the right time, and then won the World Title when the WWE fans demanded it. Do you hear those loud chants of “YES! YES! YES!” for Daniel Bryan as he’s getting a WWE Title shot? Nothing but getting over the natural way and proving himself in the midcard since his Wrestlemania 28 defeat for a World Title that he should have never had. That’s how you roughly do it… The funny thing is that the McMahons, Vince McMahon in particular, cringes at giving a 5’10″, former Ring of Honor wrestler his WWE Title. Yet, we the fans, are demanding it. Watch what happens if the WWE foolishly ruins his big moment at SummerSlam 2013 if Randy Orton cashes in Money in the Bank.
I don’t want to shit on the wrestler behind Bray Wyatt and I’m not “trolling” as some of you might believe. I’m not. I know my pro wrestling history, as I write about it often ( On This Day in Pro Wrestling History… columns to be exact), and I easily see the fact that those who do not remember history are condemned to repeat it. The WWE is pushing hard on this Bray Wyatt cult leader gimmick… History shows that fictional characters beyond 1990 do not succeed unless you add more realism to the characters. Chances are that the WWE will take the foot off the cult leader gas in a few months and Bray Wyatt will probably focus more on character developments that are more of an extension of his own personality. Maybe what Uncle Barry or his dad IRS taught him about pro wrestling will be what actually gets Bray Wyatt over…
It’s 2013… WWE is competing with Mixed Martial Arts for viewers 13-18 in age… As they enter Junior High and then High School, what type of talk makes you look like less of a dweeb or to impress chicks? Talking about cartoonish WWE wrestlers or real guys actually fighting in UFC? It’s quite clear why one business is growing in that demographic (UFC) and why one is declining (WWE).

日本皮革産業連合会が運営する革のショールーム「TIME&EFFORT」(東京都中央区)は、7月12日～21日に、国内外で活躍する女性靴職人の作品だけを展示する「女性靴職人展」を開催する。
様々な経歴を持つ女性靴職人の作品を展示
同連合会によると、日本の靴職人の世界はかつては男性ばかりだったが、現在は女性の進出が目立っているという。ハンドメイドシューズの職人から工場の底付け職人、製甲職人など、様々な分野に進出。世界でも類を見ない女性靴職人が育っており、日本独特の現象として注目されている。
彼女たちが靴職人になった動機やキャリアは様々。OLからの転職者、海外留学組、靴メーカー修業組、教室を運営する人、ペアで活動を行う人など。同展ではそんな女性靴職人の中から、国内外で活躍する10名の作品を展示する。
出品者は木口充恵(Mishoe)、捧恭子(ベルパッソ)、木佐木愛(kisakishoes)、千阪実木(靴づくり屋chisaka)、長田ちひろ(ボッテガ・テラモーダ)、未由季(キングオブスマイル)、野田満里子(サパテオ)、横尾直(Cool Strutting)ほか全10名、約50作品の展示を予定している。
開催時間は12時～20時(土・日は11時～19時)。

シャープ、ベランダの手すりにも設置できるシースルー太陽電池を発売

[b][url=http://www.sunglassessupercheap.com/jp/]太陽ガラス[/url][/b] シャープは7月22日、開口率とモジュールサイズが異なるシースルー太陽電池モジュール5機種を発表した。薄膜太陽電池セルに細かなスリットを施すことで発電と採光を両立しており、ガラス建材として活用できるという。発売日は7月31日。
[b][url=http://www.sunglassessupercheap.com/jp/]太陽ガラス[/url][/b] 通風部分を設けたマンションの手すり用として開発された「NA-B07A/B」は、従来機(NA-B095AA)から30%小型化することで、耐静荷重性能(時間的に変化しない一定の荷重に耐えることができる性能)が約1.9倍向上し、これにより高層マンションへの設置も可能になったという。
また、建築業界で採用例の多い柱間1200mmピッチに対応するため、複数のモジュールを接続する配線やサッシの幅を考慮して幅1150mmで設計された「NA-B11A/B」は、カーテンウォール用や天井に設置するトップライト用途に最適だと同社では説明している。
なおシャープでは今後も、住宅用や産業用の太陽光発電システムに加え、建材として活用できるシースルー太陽電池モジュールのラインアップを強化していくことで、太陽電池の普及拡大を図っていきたいとコメントしている。

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. Not every baby born into affluence comes with a silver spoon in its mouth.
Sometimes it’s a $1,500 solid gold one from a San Diego Internet company called The Royal Nursery.
But if parents insist on silver, Tiffany sells a nautical motif silver baby spoon for $150.
Today’s well-heeled infant is gazing at crystal chandeliers from monogrammed silk linens and tooling around in a $1,200 air-conditioned Orbit travel system designed by a Stanford engineering grad.
One of Jaana Moisio’s clients installed a $60,000 chandelier in her baby’s nursery. Moisio, a former attorney who just moved her Palm Beach Tots shop from Palm Beach Gardens to West Palm Beach, said her well-heeled clients often insist on handmade silk Olena Boyko linens, which start at $1,000 for a four-piece set.
“Palm Beachers decorate their nurseries like their homes, which tend to be traditional,” Moisio said. Themed baby rooms, with Winnie the Pooh or Disney motifs, are passé among the well-to-do. However, she said she’s seeing a trend toward injecting a dash of modern decor into traditional style, led by celebrities such as Beyoncé and Jay-Z, whose baby sleeps in an ultramodern Lucite crib.
Pastels remain the most popular colours for baby’s rooms, Moisio said, although Lilly Pulitzer’s happy tropical hues, mixed with bamboo and Palm Beach Regency’ mid-century styles are popular among the area’s fashion-forward young mothers.
She advises against the “matchy-matchy” look, saying it’s more interesting to inject some family pieces or antiques to the mix.
Moisio says parents who want a “really over-the-top” nursery might spend $30,000 to $40,000.
In the U.S., where celebrities are their royals, nursery trends are often traced to the rich and famous.
At Rooms for a Prince or Princess in Boca Raton, Fla., new mothers gravitate toward the traditional style Mariah Carey chose for her twins’ bedroom. In fact, one of the shop’s dozen or so room vignettes is a replica of Carey’s nursery. Lines such as Romina and Bratt Decor are popular for high-end nurseries, said the shop’s marketing manager, Natalie Mayer.
Mayer says rocking chairs have been transformed into upholstered gliders, and old-fashioned cribs with sliding sides have become cribs that transform into beds when baby becomes a toddler.
“They will work until most kids reach high school age,” said Mayer, who estimated her highest-end clients spend $15,000 to $18,000 to outfit their infants’ nurseries.
Changing tables have changed too, morphing into storage-heavy “changing systems.”
Earlier this year, the Rooms for a Prince and Princess instituted a separate layette registry room for moms to order everything an infant will need and an affluent mother could want.

[b]tiffany[/b] According to a complaint filed in Manhattan federal court, Costco has never been an authorized retailer of Michael Kors handbags, yet it has recently run advertisements nationwide falsely suggesting that the handbags are available “starting at $99.”

[b]tiffany & co[/b] But Michael Kors, which also makes shoes, watches and jewelry, said that its representatives visited Costco’s website and 19 retail stores, and found none carried its handbags.

“When a consumer ‘takes the bait’ and seeks to purchase Michael Kors handbags at a Costco store or on Costco’s website, no such handbags are available,” it added.
Michael Kors is seeking a court order to stop Costco from advertising its products, and to recoup profits plus punitive damages stemming from the alleged false ads.
A spokesman for Costco, based in Issaquah, Washington, was not immediately available for comment.
The lawsuit resembles one that Tiffany & Co (>> Tiffany & Co.) brought against Costco in February. In that case, the jeweler accused Costco of using Tiffany’s trademarks online and on at least one in-store ring display case.
The case is Michael Kors (USA) Inc et al v. Costco Wholesale Corp, U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York, 13-04832.

[b]Billiga Tiffany och Co smycken[/b] Having competed in the 2011 World Championships in Daegu, Devonish knows all too well what’s on the line for the athletes that will converge on the Russian capital this weekend for the start of the season’s biggest and most important competition.

There are a lot of young athletes that are part of the GB squad and some will cope with the environment and some won’t.
“I didn’t think Daegu would be my last World Championships, I was so glad to get there following an injury ravaged season that I didn’t have enough puff to compete. This should be a lesson to all the athletes.
“You can see my predictions but it wasn’t easy picking them as so many events have one or maybe two clear favourites, especially my preferred discipline, the sprints.
“Usain ‘The All Mighty’ Bolt will win the 100m and 200m but it won’t be as clear-cut as in the past, Justin Gatlin has beaten him over the shorter distance before and will believe it possible to do again.

“There will be a good battle in the women’s 100m which for me will be the most open race. I predict a blanket finish. If Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce gets her famous start, its over. If Blessing Okagbare is in biting distance of the Jamaican, she will win the race and Carmelita Jeter will be in the mix.
MEDAL
“I’m looking forward to the 4x100m relays most though and I think both GB teams can medal in third place.
“The men have a good unit and they are after our record, which they are capable of getting. I say ‘our’ because I was part of the team that helped to register the 37.73s time in Seville in 1999.
“The women’s relay team did well at the London Anniversary Games last month and if they can get close to that kind of time again or go quicker, they will surprise a few people.”
Campbell said of Team GB’s prospects: “In my mind, Christine Ohuruogu, Perri Shakes-Drayton, Tiffany Porter and the womens 4x100m relay team should medal for the women. I see Mo Farah and at a stretch, Dai Greene, taking honours for the men with a possibility of a medal in either the 4x100m or 4x400m relay. That means we won’t do as well as previous World Championships but I am interested in the performances of the others.

“The likes of Harry Aikines-Aryeetey and James Dasaolu must make the 100m finals, this would represent the type of showing needed to support the opinion that British sprinting, as far as the men are concerned, is in a good place.

“Asha Phillip and Anyika Onuora also have to make their respective finals to convince neutral observers that the progress made this year by both athletes will put them in good stead to someday challenge the best in the world.
“The absence of Jessica Ennis-Hill in the heptathlon means the spotlight will invariably shine on Katarina Johnson-Thompson, a special talent, the 20 year-old will be looking to build on the 15th place finish she experienced at the London Olympics.
‘Watch out for long jumper Shara Proctor too, an athlete who has made and continues to make huge strides towards becoming the best in the world.
“In Brittany Reese however, Proctor has a huge nemesis to outdo, the American’s world lead jump of 7.25m alone suggests she has the gold medal sown up, but if Proctor keeps it together she has what it takes to go big.
“There are more than a few inclusions in this World Championship GB squad that offer great future promise and Moscow will provide a platform for them to spring from.”

Founded by Skype co-founder Janus Friis, the service will soon add personalized stations in a direct attack on Pandora Radio, Bloomberg reports.

While the company hasn’t revealed how many users the service has, both free and subscription-based, Pandora currently has 71.2 million listeners as of July. However, Pandora only operates in the U.S., Australia, and New Zealand.
While the two competing music-streaming services clearly have a lot in common, Becherer says that the new personalized stations are a chance to separate Rdio from Pandora and keep customers loyal to the new company.
Privately held Rdio is based out of San Francisco. Pandora, based out of Oakland, closed at $19.70 on Friday, up 2.55 percent.

Now the only questions is which is the best clothing stock to invest in going forward?
Ralph Lauren
Ralph Lauren remains one of the leading specialty retailers, offering premium lifestyle merchandise. Ralph Lauren has a leading market share in department stores, with three key department stores accounting for about 45% of its wholesale revenues, while Macy’s is its largest customer — accounting for 27% of wholesale revenue. Ralph Lauren also sells directly to consumers via various specially retail locations and shop-within-shop locations.
With the U.S. market becoming saturated, Ralph Lauren and many of the clothing companies are seeking new growth opportunities overseas. Ralph Lauren plans on growing earnings via penetration of the European and Asian markets, hopping to up its total business from the areas to 33% each. Other initiatives for the stock includes a growing wholesale distribution of accessories and the Denim & Supply Ralph Lauren brand.
Ralph Lauren also has a strong balance sheet, one that’s both debt-free and boasting cash of $1.4 billion at the end of fiscal 2013.
NorthFace, Timberland, etc.
Unlike some of the other apparel companies that don’t own or operate any production facilities, VF manufactures a small percentage of its footwear and a significant percentage of its denim bottoms and occupational apparel. In 2012, the company manufactured 28% of its merchandise in units.
The company gets over 60% of its revenues from the U.S., and as a result, VF is branching out overseas, namely in Asia Pacific, with plans to increase its store count to over 6,000 over a period of five years from 2,300 currently.
The usually warm winter in the U.S. strained the company’s key winter brands, The North Face and Timberland. Even still, the company has managed to beat EPS estimates in each of the last four quarters. Analysts also expect the company to grow EPS by 5% year over year for the current quarter (ended June).
Calvin Klein, Van Heusen, etc.
PVH provides its products to the top department stores, including J.C. Penney, Kohl’s, Dillard’s and Macy’s . PVH also has some 700 outlet stores under the brand names Van Heusen, IZOD, Bass, and Calvin Klein.
Of course, the big news for PVH of late has been the acquisition of The Warnaco Group, which previously licensed the Calvin Klein jeans wear and underwear businesses. The acquisition brings the Calvin Klein brand under one roof.
Analysts expect revenue to grow to over $8 billion in fiscal 2014, thanks to an over $2 billion addition from the Warnaco businesses. PVH has managed to beat EPS estimates in each of the last four quarters, including its 40% beat last quarter. Analysts expect EPS to grow 10% year over year next quarter.
What’s a fool to do?
As the market rebounds, there’s no better way to play the increase in consumer spending than on clothes. PVH is trading below the other major clothiers on a price to sales basis.
But PVH has one of the most levered balance sheets, with the highest debt-to-equity ratio.
But this was in part due to the company’s acquisition of The Warnaco Group earlier this year. PVH is now expected to grow EPS at an annualized 12.1% over the next five years, better than either Ralph Lauren or VF, which are expected to grow EPS at 11% and 10.8%, respectively. You couple PVH’s top growth rate and cheap valuation, and it appears to be the best bet in the industry with a PEG ratio of 1.5, compared to Ralph Lauren’s 1.98 and VF’s 1.7.

Um fuzil M1 calibre 30, de fabricação norte-americana, foi apreendido pelos agentes da Delegacia de Repressão a Roubos, do Departamento Estadual de Investigações Criminais (Deic). A arma, junto com cinco munições e um radiocomunicador, estava enterrada no interior de um estábulo de um sítio na estrada da Estância Grande, na zona rural de Viamão. A apreensão ocorreu durante uma ação da equipe do delegado Joel Wagner entre a tarde de terça-feira e madrugada de quarta Ele destacou que o fuzil apreendido é capaz de suportar carregadores com 15 ou 30 munições, sendo leve e preciso. A descoberta da arma faz parte das investigações em torno de uma quadrilha responsável por sequestro de gerentes para posterior roubos a bancos. “Pelo menos quatro ataques já foram registrados no Estado”, observou o delegado. Joel Wagner revelou que seis integrantes do bando já foram identificados, incluindo um “notório criminoso”. O grupo pode ser o mesmo que entrou em confronto com a Brigada Militar no final de semana . Na manhã de sábado passado, uma carga de cigarros de um Kombi havia sido roubada em Gravataí. Os bandidos estavam em dois veículos, um Volvo e um Ford Focus, e fugiram para Viamão pela ERS 118 após tiroteiro com a BM. O Volvo também acabaria sendo abandonado. Ambos os carros teriam blindagem contra tiros. Os efetivos do 17º BPM, 18º BPM e 24º BPM foram mobilizados nas buscas. Na estrada da Estância Grande, em Viamão, os policiais militares encontraram abandonado o Ford Focus. Um dos assaltantes, de 36 anos, com vasta ficha de antecedentes criminais, foi preso nos matagais da área. Ele estava foragido e portava uma carteira de habilitação falsificada, um carregador de pistola calibre 9 mm com 11 munições intactas, um celular, um relógio de pulso e R$ 1.254,00 em dinheiro. Ao ser preso, o bandido tentou ainda subornar, sem êxito, os brigadianos, oferecendo R$ 10 mil em troca de sua liberdade. No cerco na região, que teve apoio do 1º Batalhão de Operações Especiais (1ºBOE) e do Batalhão de Aviação da BM, uma mulher seria detida mais tarde em uma casa, com armas, coletes balísticos munições, carregadores e radiocomunicadores, além da carga de cigarros e outras mercadorias roubadas, além de duas motos e um Peugeot. Segundo o delegado Joel Wagner, muitos assaltantes especializados em roubos a cargas e ou a bancos costumam atuar em ambas as áreas. “É uma quadrilha bem organizada”, avaliou.

Ingrid Lederhaas-Okun, 46, was arrested on July 2, accused of stealing 165 pieces of jewelry, including diamond bracelets, earrings and pendants, between January 2011 and February 2013. According to a federal complaint, Lederhaas-Okun was terminated by Tiffany & Co. in February 2013 as a result of downsizing within the company. As part of her plea agreement, Lederhaas-Okun will no longer be charged with wire fraud, which would have carried a maximum of 20 years in prison.
Lederhaas-Okun is set to be sentenced by Judge Paul Gardephe on December 10.

昨年のSラインで存在は知ってましたが、昨年は別のSラインのダウンを買ったため見送っていました。最近になって、急にMITSUが欲しくなり探しましたがやはりもうどこもなく、こちらの袖のあるタイプのMITSUKOを発見しこちらに決めました！ダウンじたいは、このデザインなら薄めだろうとは想像していたので、許容範囲！若干、やはり丈は短めですがこれも想定内です。シリアルナンバーも付いていたので調べたら、しっかり本物と認証されました☆☆☆メールや配送も早く、商品も間違いない物で信頼出来るお店だと思います！何より、こんなデザインのダウンてなかなかないので買って良かったです！まだ残ってたのが不思議!?

偽物でした
ファーの色合いがグレーラクーンというから購入したのにかなり茶色みがかっていました。写真を撮り、ショップへメールしましたが交換、返品一切対応しないとの一点張りで正直涙が出ました。あまりにも販売写真と掛け離れている商品なのに『私側のイメージ違い』で片付けられ…交換返品が出来ないお店は信頼度の低いお店だというのを知りませんでした。ショップは本物だと言い張っていましたが、ファスナーもデュベティカ仕様のものではないことが判明しました。通報するつもりです。

カタール政府は国内では、近隣のアラブ首長国連邦（ＵＡＥ）のドバイ首長国のように海外からビジネスや観光客を呼び込もうと、膨大な富を使ってドーハを都市建築のショーケースに変化させた。さらに、無料の医療・教育制度を整え、同国は周辺諸国を悩ませている社会不安や混乱を免れている。2022年のサッカー・ワールドカップ（Ｗ杯）招致を控えて建設ブームも押し寄せている。
同国は外国に対しては、革命や市民の抗議活動、民主化要求を擁護した。11年にはリビアのカダフィ大佐と戦う反体制派を支援し、飛行禁止区域を監視するためミラージュ戦闘機を派遣した。
サーニ家が属するイスラム教スンニ派系の一派とイランやイラクなどのシーア派指導者との緊張の高まりなどから、カタールと中東諸国との関係に圧力がかかっている。
大胆な行動は
米ブルッキングズ研究所で外交政策プログラムのディレクターを務めるマーティン・インダイク氏はカタールを動かす要因として、自国の生き残りを図るための同盟の必要性を挙げる。カタールの人口構成は自国民が約25万人にすぎないのに対し170万人の移民労働者を抱えており、「小規模な人口が非常に危険な近隣諸国に囲まれている」と同氏は指摘する。
エジプト情勢は不安定で、サウジアラビアではアブドラ国王が88歳と指導部の高齢化が進んでいる。1990年－93年に駐カタール英大使を務め、ハマド前首長を皇太子時代から知るグレアム・ボイス氏は、こうした状況でタミム首長が大胆な行動に出る可能性は低いと語る。
カタールの総人口の88％を占める移民労働者は雇用主からパスポートを没収され退職や転職もままならず、多くが過密で不衛生な施設での暮らしを強いられていると人権擁護団体は指摘している。
ハマド前首長は20年近くにわたり、高い所を目指しつつも背伸びし過ぎないよう努めてきた。近隣諸国や人権擁護団体の目から見れば、前首長は成功したとは必ずしも言えない。
カタールは依然として小国で、天然ガス価格は変動を免れないし、近隣諸国の政情不安は収拾されてはいない。それだけに息子のタミム新首長も同様に強い圧力にさらされ、難しい選択を迫られるだろう。

偽物でした
ファーの色合いがグレーラクーンというから購入したのにかなり茶色みがかっていました。写真を撮り、ショップへメールしましたが交換、返品一切対応しないとの一点張りで正直涙が出ました。あまりにも販売写真と掛け離れている商品なのに『私側のイメージ違い』で片付けられ…交換返品が出来ないお店は信頼度の低いお店だというのを知りませんでした。ショップは本物だと言い張っていましたが、ファスナーもデュベティカ仕様のものではないことが判明しました。通報するつもりです。

ジェシカは1日の深夜、自身のWeibo(中国版Twitter)に英語で「誕生日おめでとう、T！今日は完全にあなたの誕生日だよ！いつも理解してくれて、可愛らしい友達でいてくれてありがとう。(今は家族、ヘヘ)笑顔と“大きな声”忘れないでね」という祝いのメッセージと共にティファニーと撮った写真を掲載した。
写真の中の二人は野球のユニフォームを着たまま顔を合わせ、カメラを見つめている。明るく笑っているティファニーと舌を出したお茶目な表情のジェシカの姿はまさに輝いている。
ジェシカの書き込みと写真にネットユーザーは「ティファニー、誕生日おめでとう」「女神が二人も」「朝から目の保養だった」「姉妹みたい」などの反応を示した。

The concept device will be aimed primarily at technology enthusiasts and trend-setters, which suggests that its initial availability will be pretty limited. We are confident that the Gear will add meaningful momentum to the mobile industry,” said Lee Young-hee, executive vice president of Samsung’s mobile business, in an interview with The Korea Times.

Smart watches are currently developed by a bunch of companies, including Apple, Google, LG Electronics, Microsoft Corp. and others. It is more than likely that at least several smart watch models will be released to market in the next twelve months. What is currently unclear is what functions should smart watches support and how autonomous they should be.
Interactive wrist-watches are supposed to be companions for smartphones and media tablets. It is logical to expect smart watch to feature media player controls, information updates, calendar, compass, reminders, NFC payment system and other functions that do not require a lot of screen real-estate. A lot of users will also appreciate custom apps for such devices.
In addition to experimental devices designed by the team of Justin Rattner, Intel recently formed a new unit called “new devices group”, which is headed by Mike Bell and which will address the markets that are yet to emerge with new products. After being unable to respond to demand for smartphone and tablet application processors, Intel will now try to create chips for devices that do not exist yet.

Such websites post pictures of the original brand products online, but ship fake products once the payment is received online.
“Through these channels, consumers are more exposed to knowingly or unknowingly purchasing counterfeits from sellers within or outside,” Titus says.
Knowingly too. Many aspiring consumers do not mind buying fakes as the originals are mostly beyond their reach. “On my latest trip to Thailand, I picked up an LV bag for my wife and an Omega watch for myself, both for $150. I knew they were fake, but they looked good and the price was irresistible,” Gaurav Sharma, a Jaipur-based hotelier, says.
To explain this trend, Piyush Sinha, professor of marketing at IIM-Ahmedabad, points out, “Many people have hung the fake Mona Lisa painting on their walls despite knowing that only one original piece has ever been created.”
According to a recent report by Forbes, 15-30% of Internet searches on watches involve people looking for replicas, and estimates by the Swiss watch industry reveal that the replica watch market costs them billions of dollars each year. Hence, brands are now making efforts to confiscate fakes and destroy them in spectacular ‘demonstrative’ ways.
Pravin Anand of Anand & Anand says, “Policing is difficult in case of online sites as the domain names are registered outside the jurisdiction area or even outside the country. There are also many global websites that deliver in India.”
That may be why most brands do not openly talk about this issue. Genesis Luxury, which represents brands such as Armani, Burberry, Paul Smith, Bottega Veneta, Canali, Furla and Jimmy Choo in India, declined to participate in the story.
Bain & Co estimates India’s luxury market at close to $6 billion and growing at 15-20% a year while another study by YES Bank pegs the current market at $8 billion and expects it to touch the $15-billion mark by 2015. These figures are ‘guesstimates’ as most brands do not disclose their sales figures.

[b][url=http://www.worthfakewatches.com]watches[/url][/b] Financial difficulties and social unrest may be the least of Europe's problems, according to crime experts, who warn that the continent's economic struggles mean it risks an escalation in human trafficking, counterfeit products and illegal migration. Human trafficking Michael Rauschenbach, head of serious and organized crime at Europol, the EU's law enforcement agency, said the same economic pressures that increase demand for low-cost products also generate a need for cheap – and sometimes illegal – labor. "We see that in the trafficking of human beings – a continued threat – this may shift from classical sexual exploitation, to labor," he told CNBC. ( Read more: Saudi princess charged with US human trafficking) In its 2013 report on organized crime, Europol said the growing demand for cheap products and services was stimulating a shadow economy in which migrant labor was exploited. "Irregular migrants arriving in destination countries often have no choice but to accept exploitative conditions and working practices in order to pay off debts incurred through their journey," the report said. "Exploited workers are paid less and work harder, making them attractive to unscrupulous employers, who are seeking to decrease production costs." In its report, Europol noted that a large population of "mobile young people" from Africa, the Middle East and East Asia, who lacked employment opportunities, helped sustain the supply of illegal labor to Europe. The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime estimated that around 55,000 migrants are smuggled from North, East and West Africa alone to Europe each year, generating roughly $150 million in criminal income. ( View more: Illegal aliens could power US economy: Hermes CEO) "The economic crisis has caused considerable difficulties in many developing countries, and there have been considerable layoffs," noted Joutsen. "Although we cannot say for sure, it would be reasonable to assume that, since persons who are unemployed may, out of desperation and/or naiveté, believe the promises that are given to them by the human traffickers, this form of activity has been increasing," he said. Rauschenbach added that macroeconomic difficulties, such as high unemployment and low profit margins, could increase social tolerance of criminal activity. This means that individuals and businesses are more likely to commit certain crimes, and also more likely to fall victim to them. Fueling fraud CIFAS, the U.K's fraud prevention service, has already noted an upsurge in fraud since the economic crisis began. In 2012, the number of frauds committed rose 5 percent to hit an annual total of 248,325, following an unprecedented surge in the previous year. Across Europe, payment card fraud alone generates around 1.5 billion euros ($2.0 billion) in criminal income per year, according to Europol. "The economy continued to play a prominent role in the fraud landscape: acting as a likely driver for many frauds, an influence on the types of fraud being committed and – also – a disguise for much fraud that has escaped detection," CIFAS said in a 2013 report.
Michael Levi, a professor of criminology at Cardiff University in Wales, noted that insurance fraud had increased in the U.K. since the downturn, and said an upturn in bankruptcy fraud could also be expected. "It is the expectation or fear that one may become unemployed that presents the extra risk here," said Levi, in an academic paper. ( Read more: Young, educated and never had a job ) Furthermore, tight public finances mean countries may lack the finances to tackle any upsurge in crime effectively. This is particularly problematic, given that an increase in crimes like tax evasion and goods smuggling can have a direct and significant impact on government revenues. Edwards said European countries were failing to invest resources in tackling organized crime, with areas such as counter-terrorism comparatively better-funded. "Fighting organized crime requires a joined-up approach across local agencies and national governments, meaningful legislation and real investment."

“You’ve got confusion of brands and you have to look for a unifying brand,” he said. “They’re all strong brands but I believe the strongest brand of the lot is potentially William Hill.”
The news comes amid growing competition in the $26 billion local wagering industry from British bookmakers.
London’s third major player, Ladbrokes, announced on Wednesday a $22.5 million acquisition of local company Gaming Investments, which runs bookmaker.com.au. The Brisbane company was founded by Dean Shannon, who established the internet pornography division of AdultShop.
Mr Topping said the review of Australian brands would be discussed at a board meeting in London next week.
Although the final decision rests with the board of William Hill, Mr Topping intimated it would be a tough sell to go against the “personal preference” of the chief executive. He expects a final decision within four to six weeks.
“This is not a gut reaction, it’s based on an assessment of the marketplace,” he said. “William Hill is 80 years old. This is not a fly-by-night brand.”

Deutsche Bank Bumps Price Target on Tiffany & Co. (TIF)

[b]tiffany[/b] Deutsche Bank announced on Wednesday that it was maintaining its “Hold” rating on the New York-based jeweler, Tiffany & Co. ( TIF ) , but went onto raise its price target for the company. Dave Weiner, an analyst with the firm, reported “Tiffany put up a solid quarter, including positive relative results across most geographies. Further, in our opinion, mgmt. sounded more optimistic about business trends and longer-term prospects more generally, after several quarters of sounding less so. While 2Q’s ‘beat and raise’, an improving GM profile, and a more confident sounding mgmt. team are positives, inconsistent comps and full valuation (P/E is 22x-23x current year guidance) add balance and keep us at a hold.” As such, Deutsche Bank raised its PT on the company from $68.50 to $73.

consumers (ages 13 to 33) watch streaming TV or movies weekly, the
figure drops to 46% for Generation X (ages 34 to 47), and to 30% for
Boomers (ages 48 to 54).
“The synergies between consumers and their connected devices are
radically transforming video entertainment,” said David Tice, Senior
Vice President of GfK’s Media and Entertainment team. Streaming video is
giving consumers more and more control over their viewing – and forcing
content providers to reinvent their business models. As broadband
connections and mobile devices continue to improve, this trend is bound
to accelerate, creating a host of opportunities for those who can think
ahead of the next technology.”
For the new study, 1,065 persons (ages 13 to 54) were screened about
their television viewership. Full surveys were completed with 1,007
qualified respondents who reported any video consumption in a typical
week. The research was conducted in June 2013.

The label – for those who aren’t familiar with its double-cherry logo – is one of Europe’s most venerable lifestyle brands for kids. Since the first store’s debut in 1975, the clothing has maintained a consistent look, comprised largely of pretty smock dresses for girls, mini blazers for boys and soft knitwear for all.

But since joining Bonpoint in 2006, artistic director Christine Innamorato has been taking subtle steps to update the brand’s aesthetic. Conscious of the need to preserve Bonpoint’s sweetness while injecting a bit of cool, she dressed one pint-sized model at the show in a leather jacket, a pleated skirt and Dr. Martens boots. Another wore a tartan blazer, a pinstripe shirt and a bowtie, while a young girl reminiscent of Marion Cotillard accessorized a polished cashmere and broadcloth coat with a faux ponyskin bag.Bonpoint’s fall collection, like other children’s brands, is just now arriving in stores worldwide, timed to back-to-school shopping. But as Innamorato said in a recent e-mail interview, “the ‘beautiful’ clothes” of the past are having “more and more difficulty finding their place. This represents a capital challenge for Bonpoint: to reinforce the house’s roots and values in this ‘chic’ universe.”It only takes a quick glance at publications such as Milk (the Paris-based kids’-fashion magazine aimed at savvy parents) or highly stylized mommy blogs like Romy and the Bunnies (the brainchild of new mother Julia Restoin Roitfeld, daughter of former French Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld) and The Glow (started by a fashion editor and a photo director in New York) to realize that children today are stepping up their fashion game, trading smocks for peplums and mini blazers for skinny jeans.In part, this movement toward edgier, more mature kid style can be attributed to the many forays into children’s wear by designer lines of late. Armani Junior, Baby Dior and Moncler Enfant were among the first. They have been joined more recently by Stella McCartney, Chloé and Lanvin.But if the trends embraced by these brands inevitably trickle down to the kids’ lines, the latter, says Nicole Yee, the children’s editor at Stylesight, a trend-forecasting agency, aren’t necessarily carbon copies. “Brands are being inspired by ready-to-wear, but they’re not just shrinking silhouettes down to a kid’s size. So much is about comfort and tweaking these clothes for kids.”This season, for instance, chambray shirts are big in children’s wear, from Joe Fresh to Burberry. The bondage trend? Not so much (and rightly so).Innamorato, in particular, isn’t enamoured of the idea of pulling directly from grownup fashion. “I am not delighted to see that this process happens a bit too much,” she says. Instead, she still draws on words like “gentleness,” “tenderness” and “tradition” to describe her designs, adding that the goal is to punctuate them with just a little “sass.”In many instances, though, parents are now applying the same principles employed by street-style darlings and magazine editorials – mixing high fashion with high street, formal with fun – to how they dress their broods. They will invest, for instance, in a Sonia Rykiel piece but supplement it with Old Navy. Likewise, a tulle tutu dress might be paired with a grey sweatshirt and desert boots instead of the usual sparkly slippers.According to Emily and Elizabeth Dyer, co-owners of the Toronto children’s boutique Advice from a Caterpillar, practicality still rules when it comes to buying for kids in North America, but there is nonetheless a growing interest in what they refer to as “culty” brands such as Bonpoint, Bon Ton, Bobo Choses, Album di Famiglia and the chuckle-worthy Finger in the Nose. When selling these brands, they must often, they say, justify the higher prices for European labels and do so by highlighting their craftsmanship.“Instead of buying so much, you buy your favourite pieces and keep your child in them all the time,” Elizabeth says she tells clients. She adds, jokingly, that a Bonpoint dress will wear well – it just might get shorter.

[b][url=http://www.loveiwcwatches.com]iwc[/url][/b] More than 500 visitors stopped by the Museum of Work & Culture on Labor Day to take advantage of its offer of free admission all-day Monday and also to participate in special programs, including a new one-act play and the opening of an exhibit on the Italian Workingmen’s Club in the upstairs gallery, according to Raymond H. Bacon, museum co-manager with Anne Conway.

The museum’s special events were sponsored by the Rhode Island Labor History Society and recall the city’s first Labor Day celebration by area workers on Sept. 4, 1899. This year, volunteers staffed various exhibits in the museum while wearing clothing of the day, such as the parochial school outfits Victoria Genrdon, a Good Shepherd seventh-grader, and Lauren Cenedella, a North Smithfield eighth-grader, wore to help out in the upstairs Parochial School exhibit.

Conway also invited Rick Beyer, the producer and director of “The Ghost Army,” to participate in the day’s activities and tell visitors about his new documetary tracing an Army unit’s effort to deceive the enemy during World War II with a variety of fake war products and missions, some including infatable tanks that were produced in secret in the city’s U.S. Rubber Co. plant. A local premiere of the film is planned for Nov. 7.
