LNP confirms plans for new rail sell off

The LNP government has confirmed in Queensland Parliament that it will seek a mandate from Queenslanders for new asset sales and has refused to support the ongoing government ownership of Queensland Rail.

State Leader of Katter’s Australian Party, Rob Katter, said that the LNP’s refusal to back his motion against asset sales in Queensland Parliament was very disappointing news for Queenslanders.

“Queenslanders have just voted out the Labor government because it sold our state assets,” Mr Katter said.

“Now, only six months after the election, Queenslanders are once again faced with a government that supports asset sales.

“Queenslanders will be very upset to hear that the new LNP government is now seeking a mandate to conduct a new fire sale of Queensland’s assets.

“To achieve this it is clear that the LNP have embarked on what will be a three year propaganda campaign to scare Queenslanders into supporting their radical policies to privatise state assets.

“The good news is that Queenslanders will not be fooled by the LNP’s scare tactics,” he said.

“It is very disappointing that the government is so focused on cutbacks and asset sales.

“This will mean that the next three years, which should be spent on rebuilding Queensland’s economy and state infrastructure, will be spent justifying new asset sales.

“There is no reason the government will commit to infrastructure development when it is clear the LNP are planning to privatise state assets.”

    告書から、著名投資家ウォーレン・バフェット氏率いる投資会社、バークシャー・ハザウ
    ェイ が３４億５０００万ドル相当のエクソン株式を取得したことが明ら
    かになった。
    ＪＣペニー は３．９％高。米ＳＥＣへの提出書類から、ヘッジファンドのジ
    ャナ・パートナーズとファラロン・キャピタル・マネジメントが、それぞれＪＣペニーの
    株式５０万株を購入したことが明らかになった。

    と急騰。１４日発表した第３・四半期決算で売上高が約５倍の１６２０万ドルになった。
    一方、エレクトロニック・アーツ は７．３％安。ヘッジファンドのオメガ・ア
    ドバイーズが、ＳＥＣに提出した書類でエレクトロニック・アーツの株式７５万株を売却
    したことを明らかにした。

    中村福助、体調不良で休演　１２日終演後に血圧急上昇
    　歌舞伎俳優の中村福助（５３）が体調不良のため、東京・歌舞伎座で出演中の「仮名手本忠臣蔵」夜の部「七段目　祇園一力茶屋の場」を休演することが１３日、松竹より発表された。　福助は１２日の公演を終え、夫人の運転する車で帰宅したところ、足元がふらつくなどの異変を覚えたため、すぐ病院へ。「ふだん１１０から１２０の血圧が、１８０くらまで上昇していた。このところ忙しく、過労もあったようだ」（関係者）という。　福助は９月に１３年ぶりに復活する大名跡、７代目中村歌右衛門を来年、襲名することを発表。１０月は名古屋での公演にも出演していたが、ノドをこわし、声が出にくくなるなど本調子でない状態が続いていた。なお福助が演じる遊女おかるは、中村芝雀（５７）が代役を務めている。

    　ピジット工場は２００７年設立で、靴の部品を年１１００万足分生産してきた。しかし、タイ政府が今年から最低賃金を全国一律３００バーツに引き上げたため、労働コストが上昇。運送コストの問題もあり、閉鎖を決めた。

    The Usos, sons of the legendary Rikishi, showed their brilliant combination of Samoan power, speed and size. It never ceases to amaze me how these huge wrestlers can be so agile and use their sheer size for power. I don’t want to sound stereotypical but seriously Samoans are built for this sport! The Shield showcased their in-ring greatness, and the way these young talented superstars work together as a team is always a sheer joy to watch. We have had glimpses of their singles competitive skills and there’s no doubt in my mind that these individuals are going to leave a lasting mark on the WWE.
    Another decent tag team match took place between the Los Matadores and the Real Americans. Termed a racial issue, this match had entertaining spots, specially the little El Torito. Seriously, the little bull’s energy makes it seem as if he drinks Red Bull! Although the match had a slower pace than the Tag Team Championship match earlier that night, it was still worth watching and ended with the Los Matadores countering the Patriot Lock with the unnamed Double-team Suplex. All in all, it was a great night for the tag team division.
    Hell in a Cell match: CM Punk vs Paul Heyman and Ryback
    Fans had been waiting impatiently for months to see how Punk would break Heyman’s face, and defeat Ryback. Things literally escalated, with Heyman riding to the ring in a scissor lift, all the while belittling the former WWE Champion; he then resumed to stay on top of the Devil’s Structure.
    Although CM Punk’s performance was not of ‘Best in the World’ standards, but he put on a good showcase. The memorable moment came when Punk climbed to the Devil’s Structure and beat the living hell out of Paul Heyman with a Kendo stick.

    The return of John Cena
    Although most of the International Wrestling Cartel (IWC) might criticise Cena’s Superman-like gimmick but it is a fact that the man recovered in half the span of his required recuperation and then put up a great wrestling match. Perhaps, Super Cena isn’t a gimmick; perhaps, he is just not human.
    Cena’s wrestling ability was already under debate when he suffered an injury, which in turn led to heavy criticism of him suffering potential ring rust. However, scheduled to be out for six months like normal people, Cena’s wolverine-like regenerative capabilities, have allowed him to return in half the time. This ‘never give up’ attitude got the best of the Mexican Aristocrat, Alberto Del Rio, and won Cena the title of World Heavyweight Champion.
    Del Rio tried everything but the kitchen sink on Cena’s arm and yet the former Doctor of Thuganomics prevailed in over-powering the former champion and obtaining his third World Title.

    The Bad
    When The Miz came out to a crowd exceeding 17,000, the reactions indicated that a majority of them were on a toilet break. Unfortunately, the superstar has fallen from his WWE Champion days. He called out the Wyatt family and only two appeared since the leader Bray Wyatt had suffered an off-screen injury. However, The Miz made a brilliant promo; this guy has great mic skills and can be equated with the likes of CM Punk, albeit after a little polishing.
    The surprise in this Hell in a Cell Pay Per View (PPV) was one half of the Brothers of Destruction; you didn’t really expect a HinC PPV without them, did you? Kane came out to a huge pop, but botched what seemed to be an Oklahoma Powerslam or Tombstone. Although the pace did pick up when Kane proceeded to showcase his dominance by Chokeslaming the Miz, a wrestling fan is left to wonder what the purpose of this promo was, to begin with?
    The Ugly
    The face of the company
    Another on-going debate for the last few months has been around Orton and Bryan; who is the face of the company and most deserving of the WWE Championship?
    After all, both men are gifted in ring competition and have faced each other numerous times. Bryan got the best of Orton in the last PPV when he won the Championship fair and square.

    However, this time it was different.
    The only negative of this rivalry is the lack of attention given to the main superstars involved. On the contrary, more focus was put on Triple H and Shawn Michaels, even on the Big Show; superstars who haven’t performed well since 1999. The two gladiators received minimum on screen time, and if they were on screen longer, it was just as side characters to the tale of the COO’s ego. Frankly, this match had no need for Triple H, but he was there and is likely to be the reason behind the final decision of the match.
    Don’t get me wrong, the match was incredible. I just have sour grapes over a suit in a WWE Championship match. If it were not for this, this would have been in the ‘Good’ category of the review. The match itself was barbaric and technical – everything a wrestling fan wants – it was just the story and end result that ruined an otherwise brilliant match, for me.

    "As you can see, he’s got a large foot," explained farrier Tom Wright.
    Wright shoes Dozer every six weeks, along with six other horses on the Seattle Police Mounted Patrol Unit.
    The seven horses’ large size wins them power to control crowds.
    "And nothing gets people moving faster than 1,600 pounds of horse coming at them," Sgt. Scott said.
    However, Dozer’s real strength weighs only 2 lbs. It’s technology that hasn’t really changed in a hundred years.
    "We’ve tried boots. We’ve tried rubber shoes. We’ve tried a series of different things," Wright said.
    Nothing’s worked as well as the oldest trick: borium. Heated to nearly 2,000 degrees, borium nuggets fix to the steel shoes.
    "Put it down on the cement," Wright demonstrated. "You can see it doesn’t slide like steel normally would going across concrete."
    Toe clips also add extra grip to the hooves, and at 700 degrees, Dozer can’t feel any of it. The Seattle Police Department’s Mounted Patrol Unit spends about $30,000 on horse shoes every year. That’s almost one-fifth of their entire budget.
    "The saying is, ‘No hoof, no horse,’" Sgt. Scott said. "We don’t want our horses slipping or pulling ligaments or tendons, or, God forbid, falling on anybody. So, the shoes are very important."
    So, even if Dozer hasn’t mastered all his manners, at least for one hour he stood still. As if even he knows that he stands on shoes which cost $4,000 a year.

Since opening only three weeks ago, the company has already sold 10 uber chic watches with uber price tags and the grand opening isn't until next month. Proof positive of H-Town's soaring economy.

    So popular is the Swiss watch brand among a certain privileged Houston clientele that on the night of an intimate dinner in the bar at Tony's, an Hublot (pronounced ew-blow) aficionado bought the watch right off the wrist of Hublot president Rick de la Croix . The Big Bang Unico King Gold prices out at $43,600. The buyer's female dinner partner was already sporting a heavenly timepiece from the boutique.

    "The boldness and brashness of the Big Bang just seems like a Texas thing," Guadalupe noted with enthusiasm as he sipped on a glass of buttery chardonnay, priced at $170 a bottle.

    It was just that kind of night, a grand, no-expense spared dinner party that served as Guadalupe's introduction to Houston. Before sitting down at the single lengthy table set for two dozen, the Hublot team welcomed a larger contingent for a cocktail party, also in Tony's bar. Throughout the night, a very serious security guard kept a watchful eye on the two vitrines that displayed six of the watches ranging in price from the Big Bang Steel Shiny at $19,400 to the Big Bang Gold Shiny at $40,100.

    Let's just say the collection of dreamy luxury watches on display surpassed $160,000.
    The CEO was pumped about the watchmaker's recent association with Jay-Z , and noted that they dined together last week in Zurich, Hublot corporate headquarters, and again on Monday before a Zurich concert. The Shawn Carter by Hublot watch, unveiled only last Sunday, retails for close to $34,000 but 25 percent of the cost will go to the Shawn Carter Foundation. And that charitable commitment was another part of Guadalupe's message to dinner guests. Philanthropy is integral in the various communities (10 in the United States) where there are stores.
    The association with Jay-Z, Guadalupe explained, was a natural extension of the brand's outreach to sports and celebrity figures. As he told The Journal, “After having been the first luxury watch brand to enter the world of soccer as Timekeeper of the World Cup in 2010, the first to enter basketball with the partnership with Miami Heat and the LA Lakers, the first luxury watch brand to have partnered with Ferrari, we are now the first luxury watch brand to become a partner of one of the icons of music. Together with Jay-Z, we believe that we have always been the first, different and unique.”
    Among those lucky ones sitting down to the four-course dinner from Tony's majestic kitchen were John and Becca Cason Thrash (both wearing Hublot watches), Laura Mudd, Sabiha Rehmatullah , Pablo D'Agostino, Gregory Fourticq, Holly Moore and Libby Cagle .

    L’endroit peut accueillir 600 personnes. «C’est parfait pour nous» renchérit Bernard At.
    Pour cette édition, les organisateurs proposeront trois défilés de mode, trois défilés des candidates, une animation avec la revue Evasion et Pilou le sosie de Patrick Sébastien.
    Revenons à l’élection. Qui décide du succès de l’une de ses filles ?
    «Il y a un jury qui valide le vote du public. Mais c’est bien la salle qui va décider du nom de la reine du Carnaval 2014» conclut le responsable associatif. Attendons donc le 30 novembre à minuit pour connaître la nouvelle grâce albigeoise, qui sera pour un an une reine. Le rêve de toutes les petites filles sages.

    Une reine à l’agenda bien rempli
    Après les joies de la victoire, la reine du carnaval a un agenda bien rempli selon Bernard At. «Elle est de toutes les manifestations de l’agglomération albigeoises, va dans les maisons de retraites, dans les hôpitaux. Mais les jours de gloire, c’est bien évidemment lors des deux dimanches du carnaval d’Albi, où auréolée de sa couronne et de ses deux dauphines, elle passe sa journée assise sur un char à saluer le public. Un bien beau métier que celui de reine.

    [b]Répliques de montres suisses aaa +[/b] L’indice CAC 40 a perdu 48,39 points à 4.272,29 points, dans un volume d’échanges faible de 2,3 milliards d’euros. La veille, il avait pris 0,66% et terminé au-dessus de la barre des 4.300 points pour la première fois depuis septembre 2008.

    Pour le reste, les publications économiques du jour ont eu peu d’impact sur les marchés.
    En Allemagne, les investisseurs ont encore fait preuve d’un meilleur moral en novembre, l’indice ZEW montant à son plus haut niveau depuis octobre 2009. L’indicateur est toutefois légèrement moins bon que prévu.
    “Le Zew a été un peu moins bon que prévu, mais sans conséquence sur le marché parisien”, note M. Noël, qui remarque que le Dax de Francfort a moins baissé que le CAC 40 lundi.
    De son côté, l’OCDE a abaissé ses prévisions de croissance mondiale pour 2013 et 2014, “en grande partie à cause de perspectives dégradées dans plusieurs pays émergents”.
    Finalement, pour Michael Hewson, analyse chez CMC Markets, “une approche légèrement plus prudente a été le maître-mot aujourd’hui pour les marchés européens”.
    Cela devrait être encore le cas au moins jusqu’à la publication très attendue mercredi soir du compte-rendu de la dernière réunion de la Réserve fédérale américaine (Fed).
    Les marchés essaieront d’en savoir plus sur l’avenir de la politique monétaire ultra-accommodante de la Fed, qui s’annonce un peu moins favorable ces prochains mois.
    “Les investisseurs s’intéressent moins aux fondamentaux des marchés et des entreprises dans lesquelles ils investissent qu?aux orientations monétaires des banques centrales, et en particulier de la Réserve fédérale américaine”, souligne M. Hewson.
    Parmi les valeurs, Renault (+1,15% à 63,20 euros) a terminé en tête du CAC 40 après avoir vu ses ventes continuer de croître en octobre en Europe.
    PSA Peugeot Citroën, qui n’arrive toujours pas à redresser ses ventes, a malgré tout pris 0,37% à 10,93 euros.
    Total (-1,02% à 44,21 euros) et GDF Suez (-1,38% à 17,45 euros) ont reculé après des informations de presse annonçant leur décision d’introduire en Bourse la société d’ingénierie Gaz Transport & Technigaz (GTT), qu’ils codétiennent avec le fonds britannique Hellman & Friedman.
    Interparfums a perdu 2,66% à 31,13 euros, les analystes retenant surtout l’absence de relèvement des objectifs de ventes pour 2014 et non la nouvelle hausse annoncée pour 2013.
    JCDecaux a lâché 1,70% à 28,84 euros malgré l’annonce du renouvellement des contrats en Algérie.
    Safran a baisssé de 0,52% à 46,44 euros. L?État va réduire de 5,20% en tout sa participation dans le capital, en incluant une part réservée aux salariés et anciens salariés de la société.
    Enfin, Veolia Environnement a lâché 0,64% à 12,45 euros, en dépit de l’annonce lundi soir par le président du Grand Lyon, Gérard Collomb, que le groupe était “pressenti” pour remporter le marché de la distribution d’eau du Grand Lyon.
