Greens – Brown backs Obama on Palestine borders

Australian Greens Leader Bob Brown has welcomed US President Barack Obama’s endorsement of Palestine’s 1967 borders with Israel.

We believe the borders of Israel and Palestine should be based on the 1967 lines with mutually agreed swaps, so that secure and recognized borders are established for both states. The Palestinian people must have the right to govern themselves, and reach their full potential, in a sovereign and contiguous state. – President Obama

“These UN-endorsed borders are integral to the future debate about the ability of the two independent states to live in peace and security,” Senator Brown said.

Senator Brown is at Recherche Bay in Tasmania today.
