Peter Pyke Named as Queensland Party Education Spokesperson
Milk to be re-introduced to schools
9 June 2011
EMBARGOED UNTIL 10 JUNE 2011

Queensland Party Leader, Aidan McLindon MP today announced the party’s second spokesperson, naming Toowoomba North candidate and former State Labor MP Peter Pyke as the Education, Vocational Education and Training Spokesperson. Mr Pyke is an experienced trainer who is a former instructor at the Queensland Police Academy.
“The Queensland Party is continuing to build in strength and credibility and it’s leadership team is growing. Peter Pyke has experience in the Queensland Parliament and is passionate about ensuring that the educational needs of all Queenslanders are met,” said Mr McLindon.
Mr Pyke unveiled The Queensland Party’s first educational policy, stating that milk would be re-introduced to Queensland state’s schools.

“Primary school children who receive their parent’s permission will receive a light, full-cream or lactose free milk carton once per week. This program will help maintain the health of Queensland’s kids and support the state’s crippled dairy industry,” said Mr Pyke.

“The best part about the program is that each carton will also advertise important health and community safety messages such as ‘stranger danger’ and ‘look left, left right’ that have fallen by the wayside. Existing funding for school advertising will be used to kick start the program.”
