this is from Stephen Downie,

Yes Ben Stein was indeed rendered quite famous courtesy of his movie “Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed” It’s really worth a look and is available in DVD format.

Dear Friends,
Thanks to Pastor Silas for the below item. Ben Stein has also produced a DVD called “Expelled” you can read on

Interesting piece on God.

I’d say this Jewish man is right on|

Apparently the White House referred to Christmas Trees as Holiday Trees for the first time this year which prompted CBS presenter, Ben Stein, to present this piece which I would like to share with you. I think it applies just as much to many countries as it does to America …

The following was written by Ben Stein and recited by him on CBS Sunday Morning Commentary.

My confession:

I am a Jew, and every single one of my ancestors was Jewish. And it does not bother me even a little bit when people call those beautiful lit up, bejeweled trees, Christmas trees. I don’t feel threatened. I don’t feel discriminated against. That’s what they are, Christmas trees.

It doesn’t bother me a bit when people say, ‘Merry Christmas’ to me. I don’t think they are slighting me or getting ready to put me in a ghetto. In fact, I kind of like it. It shows that we are all brothers and sisters celebrating this happy time of year. It doesn’t bother me at all that there is a manger scene on display at a key intersection near my beach house in Malibu . If people want a creche, it’s just as fine with me as is the Menorah a few hundred yards away.

I don’t like getting pushed around for being a Jew, and I don’t think Christians like getting pushed around for being Christians. I think people who believe in God are sick and tired of getting pushed around, period. I have no idea where the concept came from, that America is an explicitly atheist country. I can’t find it in the Constitution and I don’t like it being shoved down my throat.

Or maybe I can put it another way: where did the idea come from that we should worship celebrities and we aren’t allowed to worship God ? I guess that’s a sign that I’m getting old, too. But there are a lot of us who are wondering where these celebrities came from and where the America we knew went to.

In light of the many jokes we send to one another for a laugh, this is a little different: This is not intended to be a joke; it’s not funny, it’s intended to get you thinking.

Billy Graham’s daughter was interviewed on the Early Show and Jane Clayson asked her ‘How could God let something like this happen?’ (regarding Hurricane Katrina).. Anne Graham gave an extremely profound and insightful response. She said, ‘I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we’ve been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our lives. And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out. How can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we demand He leave us alone?’

In light of recent events… terrorists attack, school shootings, etc. I think it started when Madeleine Murray O’Hare (she was murdered, her body found a few years ago) complained she didn’t want prayer in our schools, and we said OK. Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school. The Bible says thou shalt not kill; thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself. And we said OK.

Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn’t spank our children when they misbehave, because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock’s son committed suicide). We said an expert should know what he’s talking about. And we said okay.

Now we’re asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don’t know right from wrong, and why it doesn’t bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.

Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with ‘WE REAP WHAT WE SOW.’ !!!

Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world’s going to hell. Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says. Funny how you can send ‘jokes’ through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing. Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion of God is suppressed in the school and workplace.

Are you laughing yet?

Funny how we can be more worried about what other people think of us than what God thinks of us.

Pass it on if you think it has merit.

If not, then just discard it…. no one will know you did. But, if you discard this thought process, don’t sit back and complain about what bad shape the world is in.

My Best Regards, Honestly and respectfully,
Ben Stein

Other reasons god might’ve let hurricane Katrina happen:
    * The Muslim’s numbers are growing.
    * The Christians didn’t listen when Mohammed told them Jesus was past his time and they should listen to him.
    * The Jews didn’t listen when Jesus told them Moses was past his time and they should listen to him.
    * The gays were starting to be seen as equals.
    * God hates black people and by extension, New Orleans
    * The government lied about 9/11 and got doesn’t like liars.

Pick whichever point best suits your personal world view and you’ll instantly have god trying to prove your point via tragedy.

The BKOP Team has sent clarification request mails to both Milton and CDP Leader Fred Nile in relation to this press release.

    They are as follows :

    Hi Milton,

Thank you for sending this. In accordance with our stated charter, we have published your press release. You can view it in its entirety here :

We are just looking for a clarification, if you would be so kind.

If it does not matter what we believe because God did it, why does God keep making homosexuals if she does not like them?

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Kind regards,
    BKoP Team

Your candidate for Newcastle, Milton Caine, put out a press release today and I was hoping to get a clarification on its purpose from the main branch of the CDP.

His press release can be viewed here :

    Kind regards,

    BKoP Team

    Milton’s response :

I thank you for the very important questions and in answer I must again ask, “Who said God was or is a ‘She’ ; who said God made homosexuals and; thirdly who said God does not like homosexuals; did he not die for them in the person of Jesus Christ?”

    Yours in Good Faith

BKoP have asked some supplementary questions based on Milton’s response:

    Hi Milton,

Thank you for your kind response.

Please accept our apologies, the he/she error looks to be unfortunate typo.

Members of our staff have not been given religious instruction and so are unaware of the subtleties of the particular version of the Christian faith you ascribe to.

Could you please clarify for us which gender God is? Is God not gender specific? And to paraphrase your question, who said so?

We feel that we are not in a position to answer your questions, as no readily available and independently provable evidence has ever been asserted that God exists. As we feel that you are in a more learned position to answer those queries, could you please answer your questions for us? Or at least, the following supplementary questions?

Whether God does or does not like people that are same-sex attracted, why is the stance of the CDP (and many religious organisations) that same-sex attracted people can not marry people of the same gender?

Something that has confused our staff as well is your mention of Jesus Christ dying. If Jesus Christ is not only the son of God, but is also God, does that mean that God is dead?

As always, looking forward to your reply.

    Kind regards,
    BKoP Team

Milton sent another forwarded article today and we touched base regarding our answers above again.

Milton’s responses to our questions above :

    As to the other matters:
    1. The original language has a masculine and feminine ending to words not necessarily indicating gender, in English the masculine gender is used in regard to persons unless the female gender is the predominate or only gender in the group of persons being referred to. ( English Grammar as taught in the 1960s). Jesus said that there is neither male or female in heaven. God created man (and woman) in His own image, male and female he created them. I do not subscribe a gender to God however we are in a gender world and we need to use gender terms and so male is the default gender.

    2. As to the existence of God I will not prove that which needs to be received by faith, however the evidence of the design of the universe screams to me that God created it and if you choose to accept some other explanation so be it. As I and the Greeks of old see it is that the only logical thing behind all things is the “unmoved mover” and that is God.

    3. If you do not accept God and his laws then you will choose as you will I choose to accept them and so be it. Homosexuality is an expression of hardening a persons heart to God and turning the natural things into the unnatural things. I pass no personal judgment upon the homosexual community except to say God said it is wrong and I accept what God said and so therefore I cannot support it in any way. God is the author of marriage and he excluded same sex people by His words referring to the marriage being between a man and a woman. If others chose another authority so be it I will defend my authority with all my might and will hold on to my views with all that I am.
This in no way is to mean that I do not care for people involved in homosexuality for I do I just do not agree with their choices. I know a man who shot another person on Wednesday last week and I do not agree with what he has done, I do not agree with the anger that has inspired him to shoot this man BUT I do care for him very deeply. I do hope you choose to understand what I have written and not to make what written to say what it does not.

    4. Jesus is and was the son of God and has died and has risen again if you choose not to accept this that is your choice. Your acceptance or rejection will not change the facts but you acceptance will change you.

    Yours In Good faith

    Milton Caine

To clarify, we will not be posting any more of Milton’s forwarded article as press releases as they do not contain content generated by the CDP, but are just Milton adding a comment and forwarding them on.

Any genuine press releases or policy statements we will continue to publish.
