Everything sounds great, except for your stance on the internet filter, which is bizarre, given your other responses.

    Good luck to you anyway.

  • Myron

It seems our education system has been failing the very people who are charged with fixing it; the difference between there, their, and they’re isn’t that hard as is spelling basic words correctly.

Also, Supporting an R18+ classification on video games whilst at the same time supporting the proposed internet filter… seems like a conflict in ideologies to me.

  • I am interested to know why when we contacted the carers alliance regarding preferences, we made a deal for first for first, and that was a fair call considering I have held major rallies on the subject, and my running mate is a carer, so we honoured our promise to the carers alliance and gave you first preferences, yet you lied to us and did not honour your promise, is it just about winning rather than leading by example?

Seems we were not the only group or party you played this game with, how does this make you feel?

  • David

Was it a tough decision to make between the Carers Alliance, and the Climate Sceptics, which you have put as your second preference?

And why the huge differential between the Christian Democratic Party and the Democratic Labor Party? They share all the same policies, values, philosophies, etc… Did you think that the DLP were somehow connected to the Australian Labor Party?

  • Carers is very important to me, The Climate sceptics suffer from a poorly chosen name, more than policy directives, as for the DLP, I once heard them speak on the steps of parliament after I had just spoken on democracy, they were very harsh and judgemental in a very personal way in regards to some lobbyists I respect, there fore loosing my respect, that said I am cordial with them, when doing preferences ease of contact, local known candidates and the like all come into the equation, for instance the Shooters and fishers party, were impossible to find contact details for and their candidates are not even in my state.

Any Candidate who hides their contact information is of concern to me, and to be honest full preferential voting offends me, let alone the AEC being un willing to share contact info.

  • Chris

shooters and fishers contact details are right here: http://www.aec.gov.au/election/sa/index.htm#sen

  • David

Not to mention how easy this was.

Still sounds to me like even you don’t know why you preferenced those specific people. The Climate Sceptics suffer from more than just a poorly chosen name (which conveys everything they want it to), they also suffer from incredibly poor policy decisions and a willingness to ignore reams of scientific data if it means their investment portfolio doesn’t take any damage.

  • I base my decisions on meeting people, talking to them, and their past history through preferences, obviously you do not like my decision, so easy, do not vote for me, whoooops, if you are in SA and you wish to cast a vote, you have to preference me, bugger hey “)

Funnily enough, if you hate the idea that you have to preference me, best you support me, as I am the only candidate fighting for your right not to have to…lmao

  • PS contact details were not available in the 24 hours we had to work out preferences, and many do not have phone contact details on their sites, some do not even have sites, a few of us spent many hours trying to come up with contact details, yet every candidate could have found mine very easily, and could have called, not that I would have preferenced highly candidates that were not even in my state.

  • Chris

I’m pretty sure the “24 hours we had to work out preferences” were after the candidates were announced. And as soon as the candidates were announced, those contact details were available. We know this because we went through them all.

  • You faired better than me, I was given a list as were other candidates I know, and they did not have contact details

  • Chris

It’s not like we had special access though. That page is completely open to the public.

  • Nice site Chris and David, I hope you stick to allowing one and all to be published here, as most media sources are very bias towards 2 party politics, great work

  • Christopher Cochrane

Chris and David, being Marks running partner I also had a look into finding out information about certain candidates and found it hard to find stuff out.
I have talked to allot of the public and have been out meeting them they have raised allot of good questions about the real issues that concern them.
I am learning that candidate’s are more interested in pushing their party’s views more than the voter as a whole. Now I want u to understand this if the public do vote for you will you be answering to the people of Australia and also South Australia or will you like the major party’s have backroom decision makers speak for you and make decisions that will effect Families and the elderly people of this state and country more. Me and Mark would be happy to have a debate with you on real issues matter of fact we will gladly debate any of the other 40 people in the state of South Australia on the real issues name the place and time and we will be able to once and for all answer all your questions and more. As I will say this once if elected we will and always have put the people of this great country first as after all if we do get elected or any of the other 40 people, the people deserve better treatment and fairer representation as what they have been getting is Party politics at it’s best.

    Hi Christopher,

Neither Chris nor I are running in the federal election. We’re trying to host a site where all parties, big and small, can have their voice heard.

A natural follow on from that is for those same parties to hear the voices of potential voters, without fear of comment moderation or editing. We’re trying to give people the ability to speak freely about Australian politics, without Fairfax or NewsCorp having a say.

We’re happy to post your press releases and policy statements, just don’t get all butthurt when we also tear them to shreds for their faults, perceived or otherwise. It’s part of the system you’re trying to get into, and if you can’t clearly annunciate your views on a web forum, how the hell are you going to do it in the Senate?
