Dumb policies down for the lowest common denominator, you mean. Might be nice for the people who wouldn’t get it otherwise, but it doesn’t lead to good policy.

Except for all those times that the lie through their teeth and change their minds and claim mandates for things they were never elected for and do things they promised not to. But aside from that, yeah, you always get what was advertised.
