CONFIRMED: THREE HOURS A DAY ON A BUS

A report today reveal that Canberrans who live in the outer north or the outer south spend up to 3 hours each day commuting to and from the Parliamentary Triangle.
This comes just days after the Government approved a paid parking facility in Barton which will trigger paid parking across the Triangle.
“Today’s reports are just another indictment of Labor’s failure to deliver for Canberra,” Senator Gary Humphries said today.
“Despite it being the best infrastructure project in Australia, Canberra didn’t receive one cent for the Majura Parkway upgrade.
“Jon Stanhope’s bungling of the Gungahlin Drive Extension is a territory-wide joke.
“Under Labor, paid parking in the Parliamentary Triangle will become a reality, yet there is still no plan to improve services.
“Jon Stanhope says that concerns raised by Canberrans about long bus rides are nonsense.
“And the Greens aren’t any better. Shane Rattenbury and Meredith Hunter, who gave the Stanhope Government another term, don’t want the Majura Parkway upgrade or the Gungahlin Drive Extension, even though both these projects will make travel around Canberra more efficient and ease bottlenecks, thereby helping the environment,” Senator Humphries concluded.

If only the Liberal Party had had the chance to actively do something in government for the last 14 years. I mean, the Labor Party are completely to blame for the systemic underfunding of infrastructure projects in Australia for the last 4 decades, aren’t they?

Here’s something you’ll never read but probably should : We don’t care who broke it, we care who’s going to fix it. Start offering solutions and stop being part of the problem.

    That’s a press release?

That’s common knowledge here – I actually make that 3 hour round trip daily.
Didn’t the ‘Action Bus’ cull take place in ’07?

“Jon Stanhope’s bungling of the Gungahlin Drive Extension is a territory-wide joke.”
It is pretty funny – A trench of roadworks running north to south cutting EVERY major north Canberra road in half.

Truth is – Libs and Labor hold the same seat count, greens have the balance, but it’s easier to point fingers and say ‘I told you so’ than to negotiate with ‘those lefties’.

I’m pretty sure I’ve a link round here for either Humphries or Stanhope talking about ‘Housing afford-ability’…
    Suppose that’s another press release.

“We don’t care who broke it, we care who’s going to fix it. Start offering solutions and stop being part of the problem.” – Seconded
